Terms of Service

1. Who we are

"DeepInquiry", "we", "us", and "our" mean the DeepInquiry service. Our principal contact for these Terms is api@deepinquiry.ai.

"You" and "your" mean the individual or entity using the DeepInquiry website, API, or embeddable widget (together, the "Service").

2. What the Service is

DeepInquiry publishes factual claims that have passed a five-layer verification pipeline (see our verification methodology). Facts are delivered as JSON through the API at api.deepinquiry.ai, as HTML through the widget, and as a browsable feed at deepinquiry.ai. Each fact carries citations to its underlying sources and a confidence tier (Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Unverified) reflecting how independent those sources are.

Verified doesn't mean guaranteed. We do our best, our pipeline is documented, our scoring is transparent — but the Service is provided "as is" and you should apply your own judgment before publishing anything user-facing based on a DeepInquiry fact. See Section 9 for the full disclaimer.

3. Your account and API keys

To use the API you need an account and an API key. You're responsible for keeping your key secret; if it leaks, rotate it from your dashboard immediately. You're responsible for all usage under your key, including usage by anyone you share it with.

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU/UK) to sign up. If you're using DeepInquiry on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use DeepInquiry to:

• Break laws, violate anyone's rights, or facilitate someone else doing either.
• Redistribute our fact corpus as a standalone, competing fact-verification database or API. You can quote individual facts in your own product — that's the point — but you can't clone the corpus.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, quota enforcement, or authentication.
• Scan, probe, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach any of our security measures.
• Interfere with other users' access, e.g. by running denial-of-service traffic.
• Train a competing fact-verification model on our output at scale without a written license from us.
• Use the Service in life-safety, medical, legal, financial, or other high-stakes decision contexts as the sole source of truth. DeepInquiry is a research and content tool, not a professional advisor.

We can suspend or terminate any account that we reasonably believe is violating this section, without notice for egregious cases.

5. Fees, billing, and cancellation

Free-tier usage is free. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe at the price listed on deepinquiry.ai/pricing at the time you subscribed. Prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude any taxes we're required to collect.

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. When you cancel, your paid plan stays active through the end of the current billing period and then drops to the Free tier — we don't refund prorated unused time by default, but reach out to api@deepinquiry.ai if you have a specific situation and we'll do the right thing.

Failed payments (declined card, expired card, etc.) will drop your key to Free-tier limits until billing is restored. We'll email you before that happens.

If we raise prices, existing paying customers get at least 30 days' notice by email and can cancel before the new price takes effect.

6. Your content vs. our content

Our content. The facts, confidence scores, methodology, source clusters, and all other data produced by DeepInquiry belong to DeepInquiry. When you're on a paid plan (or the Free tier), we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use API responses in your own products — including quoting facts, displaying them alongside your content, and building features on top of them — subject to the acceptable-use restrictions in Section 4.

Your content. Anything you submit to us (feedback, bug reports, suggestions) can be used by us without obligation to you. Don't send us confidential information you don't want us reading.

Attribution. When you publish DeepInquiry facts in a user-facing product, a small "verified by DeepInquiry" credit near the fact is appreciated but not required. Removing our citations from a fact you publish, though, is not okay — the sources travel with the fact.

7. Third-party services we rely on

To run DeepInquiry, we use these subprocessors. By using the Service you accept that your account data flows to them for the purposes listed:

• Stripe — payments and subscription billing.
• Vercel — website and API hosting.
• Supabase — managed Postgres database.
• Resend — transactional email (API key issuance, billing).
• Sentry — error monitoring.

8. Availability, changes, and beta features

DeepInquiry is a real production service, but it's not covered by an SLA on Free, Starter, Pro, or Scale plans. If you need contractual uptime commitments, use the Enterprise plan.

We can change the Service — including adding, removing, or altering endpoints and features — with reasonable notice for material changes. Fact-corpus content changes constantly by design; that's the product.

Anything we label "beta", "preview", "experimental", or similar is provided as-is with no availability commitments and may be pulled at any time.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Every fact is graded on our best available evidence at the time we published it; we don't warrant that any fact is complete, current, or free from error. Do not use DeepInquiry as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, safety, or other high-stakes decisions.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEEPINQUIRY AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUBPROCESSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE — EVEN IF WE'VE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $100.

11. Indemnification

You'll defend and indemnify DeepInquiry against third-party claims arising from (a) your misuse of the Service, (b) content you publish that combines DeepInquiry facts with your own additions or alterations, or (c) your breach of these Terms.

12. Termination

You can stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. We can suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms and don't fix the breach within 14 days after we email you about it — or immediately if the breach is one that can't be cured (like an attack on the Service). Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 14 survive termination.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and both parties consent to personal jurisdiction there. Each side waives any right to a jury trial. Claims must be brought individually — no class actions or class arbitrations.

14. Changes to these Terms

We can update these Terms. Non-material updates (typo fixes, clarifications) go into effect on publication. Material updates go into effect 14 days after we email registered users and post the revised Terms here. Continued use after the effective date is your acceptance of the change.

15. Everything else

These Terms plus the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us on this subject. If any part is held unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a right on one occasion isn't a waiver of the right on another. You can't assign these Terms without our written consent; we can assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or reorganization.
